Editing and Proofreading

Welcome!

I have moved my website 🙂 You can now find me, in all my regularly updated glory, over at http://www.thepickybitch.weebly.com

This site has a much better set up and it is easier than here to add new covers to my Books I’ve Worked On gallery. Please go and check out the new look site, it’s much easier to update and nagivate, and I personally think it looks fabulous.

You can still contact me from here for now, but I will be closing this page down soon.

Thank you, everyone!

Welcome to my page.

First of all, my qualifications. I completed my Diploma of Professional Writing and Editing at Chisholm Institute in 2006. I also have a natural talent at being able to pick up errors in writing – predominantly spelling and punctuation – which was why I returned to study in the first place. May as well use what skills I was given!

I wear many hats, some of them being: Editor/Proofreader, Mother, Beta-Reader, Taxi, Bank, and the list goes on!  I love copy editing stories – I love that I get to read a story before other people do and I love that I can help find the “boo-boos” before it goes live or to print.

As a beta-reader, it’s a wonderful feeling to be able to assist an author with a piece of work. Whether that piece of work isn’t working, if it’s driving them a bit batty, the story line is creating havoc or the characters just aren’t co-operating. Whatever the issue, I am honoured to be a part of the process.
It’s fun too, to brainstorm with people and let the ‘crazy’ out to play (It’s a special kind of awesome when I’m acknowledged in the front of someone’s book too!).

I love writing too but since I don’t seem to have enough hours in a day, I use my writing skills to help authors make their work, well, work!
